We’ve worked through some challenging times but the commitment of Sir Richard Branson, and the passion of our staff to deliver outstanding customer service, have delivered the popular services we now operate.

Working with our train partners Alstom and Bombardier – each experienced at manufacturing and maintaining trains across the world – we introduced a completely new set of trains costing €2.3/$3.2 billion. They have now travelled over 145 million miles/230 million km.

We’ve slashed journey times. The 645km/401 mile journey from London – Glasgow has been shortened by 51 minutes, and the 312km/194 mile trip to Liverpool cut by 33 minutes.

We’ve increased frequency. On our busiest routes we run services every 20 minutes – long-distance services at commuter frequencies.
