Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) is the largest train operating company in the UK with more passengers, more trains and more staff than anyone else in the country.

We’re a family of local brands, that have come together to make the UK’s largest train operating company.

We began running Thameslink and Great Northern in September 2014, and soon after took over a small number of services and stations on the Sevenoaks route via Catford and Swanley.

In July 2015, the Southern and Gatwick Express routes, joined the franchise.

GTR now carries 273 million passenger journeys per year, employs over 6,500 people and generates annual passenger revenues of approximately £1.3bn. We run over 3,200 services every week day and serve 320 stations, 236 of which we manage.
